The Podcast Academy at Duke has come and gone and it seemed a good time was had by all. I had promised my notes in the presentation to be delivered to this blog for anyone who had an interest. Regrettably, it seems that for all its good points, the Vox blogging software doesn't allow a posting of a pdf. Ah, but it does allow a QT movie post so that is what we have. It is listed under my videos (to the right) just swing it on into iTunes. The audio from the session will have to wait until the Duke folks post, but this should at least get you the check lists I referred to and get you to the del.icio.us/fisherstudios reference section I made. Just remember image no sound on this QT Movie..how ironic for a session on audio!!

September finds the pigskin back in action. The NFL Preseason game had the Panthers at Pittsburgh. A stop by the Andy Warhol Museum between our hotel and the stadium gave me pause. The tech on this show was pretty basic and it was nice to see some Pittsburgh's finest TV crews from Don Cunningham to Steve Lowe to Jay Kunz.
Two weeks out working with the Golf Channel gang. Lovely visits to Seattle and Portland where Golf channel was trying out some new plans for their PGA coverage in 2007. BST, as usual, providing the wireless component to the cameras, mics and communications. In the audio arena we had to wrestle some busy spectrum (the ongoing installs of DTV stations in the market) and bring in a different set of frequencies to get 11 RF mics to do the job. It is clear that each year brings a little less availability of spectrum for the challenges faced on golf event coverage regardless of market.
